Parsley
An indispensable herb, parsley is the perfect addition to classic sauces, soups, fish and egg dishes. For best results, add towards the end of cooking.
Mix with lemon zest and breadcrumbs as a topping for fish, chicken or steamed vegetables.
Add to crème fraîche and serve poured over pan-fried pork fillets.
Mix with a ready-made or packet white sauce mix for a quick parsley sauce for fish. Stir through mayonnaise for extra special chicken or salmon sandwiches.
Oregano
With a pungent aroma reminiscent of pizza, oregano is popular in both Mediterranean and Mexican cuisines. Use it alone or in combination with garlic, chilli, cumin and tomatoes, an essential ingredient in a bolognaise sauce.
Sprinkle over small cubes of potato before roasting; add a squeeze of lemon juice towards the end of cooking.
Add to a cheese omelette for extra flavour.
Stir into hot vegetable dishes, such as ratatouille, or stir into tomato based pasta sauces.
Italian Herbs
Our Italian herb blend includes marjoram, oregano, thyme and rosemary along with sweet red peppers: a perfect combination for boosting the flavour of Mediterranean dishes.
Use to pep up bolognaise or a bought tomato sauce / tin of tomatoes / tomato soup.
Try adding to roasted vegetables with some grated lemon zest and olive oil.
Add to ready-made bread mixes with some sliced olives for herb and olive bread.
Basil
With a rich and sweet flavour, basil is an essential ingredient in Mediterranean foods. For best results, add at the very end of cooking.
Add to tomato soup with a little orange juice for a twist.
Try a small pinch with warmed strawberries and a splash of balsamic vinegar.
Mix with cream cheese and smear under chicken breast skin, wrap with a rasher of streaky bacon and oven bake.
Add to omelettes, salads, sauces and marinades.
